This policy explains what personal data Econowe collects, why, who we
share it with, and the choices you have — including deleting your
account and everything tied to it at any time.
1 Who is responsible for your data
Econowe is developed and operated by Sergio Fernández,
an individual developer based in Spain, acting as the data controller
for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach the
controller directly at
support@econowe.app.
2 What we collect
We only collect what the app actually needs to work:
Account data — your email address, and either a password (stored as a one-way bcrypt hash, never in plain text) or, if you use Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, that provider's own email, name (if it provides one) and unique account identifier.
Learning data — your XP, streaks, completed Lessons, Concept mastery history, unlocked badges and artifacts. This is the core data that lets Econowe track your progress across Learning Paths.
Purchase data — your subscription status and purchase/transaction identifiers, used to unlock premium features. We never see or store your card number — Google Play or the App Store processes payment directly.
Push notification token — a device identifier used to deliver notifications, only if you allow notifications.
Advertising data — if you choose to watch a rewarded ad (e.g. to skip a Lesson cooldown), Google AdMob processes standard ad-serving data (such as your advertising identifier) under its own privacy practices.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or any data beyond what's listed above.
3 How we use it
To create and secure your account, and keep your progress synced across sessions.
To personalize your Personalized Progression through the Learning Path you chose.
To process and verify subscription purchases.
To send you transactional emails (e.g. a password reset code) and, if enabled, push notifications about your learning streak or new content.
To show rewarded ads you opt into watching, and measure their revenue.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising profiles beyond the AdMob rewarded-ad integration described above.
4 Our legal basis
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your data on these bases:
Performance of a contract — account data and learning data, to actually provide the service you signed up for.
Legitimate interest — basic security and abuse-prevention measures.
Consent — push notifications (you're asked to allow them) and watching a rewarded ad (always your choice, never automatic).
5 Who we share it with
We use a small number of specialized service providers, each only for the specific job listed below. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing that service to us.
Provider
Purpose
Google (Sign-In & AdMob)
Authenticating your account via Google Sign-In, and serving rewarded ads you choose to watch.
Apple (Sign in with Apple)
Authenticating your account, if you choose to sign in with your Apple ID.
RevenueCat
Verifying subscription purchases with Google Play / the App Store and tracking ad revenue.
Processing subscription payments — we never receive your payment details.
6 International transfers
Some of the providers above (Google, RevenueCat, OneSignal) may process
data on servers outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens,
it relies on that provider's own adequacy decision, Standard
Contractual Clauses, or equivalent safeguard under GDPR.
7 How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete
your account from the app, your account and everything tied to it —
progress, badges, artifacts, purchases — is permanently and
immediately erased from our servers, with no retention period.
Deleting your account: see our dedicated
Delete Your Account
page for exactly how, whether or not you still have the app installed.
8 Your rights
If you're in the EU/EEA or another jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Erase your data (or simply delete your account yourself, any time).
Econowe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal data from anyone under that age. If you believe a
child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will
delete it.
10 Security
Passwords are never stored in plain text — only as a one-way bcrypt
hash. Access to the app requires a signed authentication token, and
data in transit is encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is
ever 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures
to protect your data.
11 Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update
the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you
in the app.
